It all started yesterday.....when I bloody got a cold. Oh well, I just ignored it as I thought that it was just a common cold. Then, during class, my head felt a little woozy and it hurts, headache ma. From there, I knew that it was a symptom of me going to have a fever! But yesterday, my class ends at 5pm. So, that means I have to suffer until 5pm before I can go back to the hostel and take 2 panadols. Ok, fine, I ate my panadols already, and I got instantly knocked-out on my bed.
TODAY!! When I woke up, again I felt feverish. Oh, well, I got no time to bother about that now as I need to drag my ass into class! To make matters worst, it was raining in the morning!! The classes were so cold!! Thank god my classes for today last only until 10am. I went back to the hostel and get some more rest.
Hm....come to think of it, UniTEN and UPM are quite close by only...and UPM seems to have caught the H1N1 virus. Could it be.......NAH!! Impossible!! But there were people fogging though, must be the dengue coming back into town~
Sufering for now....there is nothing uncurable with a good rest and 0% stress!! =P
For some reason, I can't seem to blog in UniTEN for this past few days. Oh well, that doesn't matter now, since I can blog now!!!
Well, this time, I wanna talk about my experience in the PKC Freshies Camp. Frankly speaking, all I can say is the FOOD is worth my money =D. Well, as u can see, I payed RM20 for the club's membership fee and the camp together. Well, in 1 day time, we got 4 meals, breakfast, lunch, dinner and supper. Lunch and dinner was no ordinary packed food you see in camps. PKC provided us with two type of vegetables and a type of meat! HORRAY for pork!! =P
Anyway, on Friday night, the camp started, ah....the usual basics of every camp. Ice breaking sessions in your respective groups. Oh well, since I am already used to this kind of situation, I fit in just nicely. The flag I designed is also quite cute in a sense of way since when we split into our respective groups, my group was under the code "dog". So, I drew a dog on our flag which looks very cute. I'll try and get the photoes from my seniors soon. After everything was over at 10.30pm, I went for my dance practice with my senior, Juin Farn and damn we practiced until so late!! It was about 1.30am when we finished practicing....
Saturday came, well, it always does, time never stop flowing....since I slept late this morning, which was around 2.30am, I was late for the camp!!! Never mind, I was not the only one as my house mate Ker Jia also overslept as both of us practice until late at night this morning. So, the camp programme goes on by having games, as in station games where two teams compete against each other to find the victor. There are 6 teams and 6 game stations, so eventually, we will meet some of the same group twice. My group won 4 rounds and lost 2 rounds. Ok, la, not that bad. I'll try and get the pictures from my seniors too for this 1....
Then, in the afternoon, we had a "fashion" show. Well, basically, we are given a theme and we must make costumes according to our themes. My teams theme was superhero. We kinda sucked at it. Do you know, it is very scary when a guy plays a girl's part. I am talking cross dressing, because, guys will do things a girl will never do!! Ok la, yes, they did made us stuff coconut shells (provided by the facilitators) and newspaper at the chest, but from my view, I think they had over-done it a little. I cannot participate in the fashion show as I was in the drama team as well, so, literally, I was BARRED from participating that game due to my senior's orders. When they were designing the costumes, I was not around was I had to reherse for the drama act!! What a waste, I wished I could join them and do crazy stuff!! The fashion show, which was very funny, seeing guys dressed as girls and doing very perverted stuff!! This is certainly a blow on the girl's honour in my opinion as the guys are acting like strippers and whores!! They sure have the talent for it, as no one understand what a person wants more then themselves.
The drama which was after the fashion show was a fiasco. We crossed the line and kinda insulted some of the PKC senior members, especially the EXCO members. Oh well, no one care about them anyway, if you can't take the joke, stay out of it! Well, it is a common sense that nobody will make fun of you unless you have done something which did something which annoyed the other party. So, screw them!! =D
In the evening, we got water games~~ Yay!! Time to get wet and splash water on the seniors and facilitators!! Its pay back time!!! WAKAKAKAKA!!! After the game, I eventually got sick as in a common cold. That doesn't matter to me, as my natural body resistance is high, so I can get over it just by resting. No, I am not lying, I just need to rest and sleep to allow my body to recover from minor sickness like flu or fever.
At night, they organized a detective game for us to play. To me, the case they made is quite easy for me, maybe its due to the CSI episodes I watched and Detective Conan which I read. So, with me fooling around with the gang again, we came out on top for the game. My murder theory was proven correct and I am also very grateful to my team mates as they trust me. Cause I had to leave them right before we have to submit our theories as Juin Farn told me that I had to practice the dance with them. Doesn't very nice eh? Of all they things I am good at, I had to skip it.... Lets see, on Saturday night, we practice dancing all they way till midnight to perfect our breaks.
Sunday!! The last day of the camp. Well, me and Ker Jia couldn't join the Treasure Hunt event in Taman Bukit Jalil as we had to reherse for the dance performance later on. I heard it was very fun. I kinda regreted I did not go to play with my team mates. Oh well, everything went smoothly for the last day of the camp. The dance performance was quite OK la, considering that we only trained less then 48 hours. I'll upload the video when I get back home. The connection in UniTEN is just too slow for the video upload.
Talked too much...time to take a break and have a Kit Kat~
Yes...this week is very very tiring. I think I have gone a bit overboard on the activities. First of all, the PKC camp is coming up, so the performances have to be practiced regularly. What it has to do with me? Well, I kinda go 'dragged' into the performance by going with the flow.
At first, I only participated in the dancing performance. More like a free-styling dance led by my seniors. Since, I can't use youtube in UniTEN. You guys just look for Wonder Boy by Super Junior in youtube. That is the dance that we are going to use for the freshie camp.
Then, I also got dragged into the drama team along with my chinese room mates since they are short of hand. SO, out senior asked us for a favour and, well, how can we say no? Go into their good books and they might lend us a hand one day. It is a win-win situation. So, what is there to lose?
To tell the fact, THERE is EVERYTHING to lose, because it is very tiring as I still got homework to finish, cope up with the course outplan and of course, STUDY!! Thank god it is only for this week!! I don't think I can take another crazy week like this over and over again.
The apartment unit also got some problem, thus forcing me and my house mates to shift apartment. From Blok A2, we shifted over to Blok A6. An apartment unit further and mostly inhibited by the seniors. WOW, I became a senior in less then a month!! Since my back is injured, I think I have injured in even more since I shifted the stuff into the new apartment unit. Ow...my back... =.=''.
Anyway, I am not going back home again this week. So, maybe I'll be home next week. Till next time cheers~
So far, everything seems nice in UniTEN. The food here is quite a heartache though. It really breaks my heart every meal time, just to get a balanced diet. RM 10 per day is my budget, and RM 40 per week is how I am going to manage my finance. Need to survive until either my PTPTN or YTN loan gets approved.
Anyway, I tried out UniTEN's swimming pool on Monday. The most shallow part is about 1.3 meters while the deepest was 3 meters deep. Yes, I am not kidding, it is 3 meters deep. I could have died if I do not know how to swim. Anyway, I am planning to swim every Monday or Tuesday just to keep my body in check.
Then, on Tuesday, I participated the Chinese Culture Society gathering event. It was around 8pm to 10pm in Collage Of Information Technology (COIT). The gathering was not bad, given that it is planned by fellow students. So, I don't really mind much on that. I got a good mind to take part in the PKC Freshies Camp for next week. Need to ask my dad first =.="
And TODAY! I went for the UniTEN Buddhist Fellowship gathering for a talk about relating Buddhism to university life. The talk was held In COIT also and the speaker was Mr. Vijaya. The talk was very interest and funny at the same time. Mr. Vijaya is really an experienced speaker in my opinion because he knows how to get out attention.
Now, I got alot going through my mind, which club to participate in. I know for sure that I am going to join the Chinese Culture Society and UniTEN Buddhist Fellowship already, but I am still doubting should I join back Tae-kwando. My back ache is also not fully healed yet, and it clashes with the other 2 societies activity. Need some opinion here!! Any views are welcomed~
OK, here is the thing, my 1st week in Uniten has already OWNED me. Physisc is like WTF?! and Calculus is like Holy S**t.
Seems like I have to struggle to get through foundation year...no more fooling around I guess. The campus in UniTEN is huge...wanna get to one place to another take quite some time. So, to get to one class to another class, I am cycling in the campus. Great form of exercise in my opinion, but now only I know that I am lacking of exercise. My muscles have been hurting everytime I am cycling uphill.
Just recently, I participated in the UniTEN Buddhist Fellowship Warm Welcoming Week. Yes, I know I am a "banana" but I still understand Mandrin ok? The event was an average event, considering the number of participants. Anyhow, given it was the worst of luck during that day, I did not eat dinner until 10pm+ which is after the event.
Since there is pool in UniTEN, it will be a waste not to use the facilities right? So me and my pals are planning to take a dip in the pool next week. Time to stress my muscles to its limits again.
Yay!! I can blog in UniTEN!!! I guess the connection is not as bad as i though it would be...=)
Though...downloading and youtube is totally out of the question....it is so freakking slow!!
But, I still can go into sites like facebook and play Restaurant City =X and etc etc.
Anyway, the classes already started, mainly for now is all introductions and all the crap, I don't think that I will be having any tutorial classes this week though....
Watched Transformers 2 yesterday with my family. It was so f**king cool!!! I need to hold my bladder juz not to miss any of the actions!! The way the Autobots "terminates" the Decepticons is just like the God Of War's finishing move. WAIT! IT IS EVEN BETTER!!! 2 hours and 15 minutes of non-stop action and metal clashing! This is something everyone would really enjoy.
The old Hollywood law was also implanted. Hero never dies. Who wanna watch a movie where the hero will die? LOL
Hi guys!! I am back from Orientation Week in UniTEN!! There are Pros and Cons about the Orientation. I am seriously going to tell you guys my experience in UniTEN.
PRO(s):
1. Free food!! Breakfast, lunch, dinner and supper is provided! Woots!!
2. Cool Facilitators!! I really enjoyed my time being with them.
3. Made ALOT of friends!!
4. Met my childhood friend,Lim Jun Nian!! YAY!! Brings back memories~~
5. Nice group activities. Did most of them in NS camp though. Its fun to do it again. =)
CON(s):
1. Have to wake up 5.00am in the morning!! SO BLUR!!!
2. Boring ceramahs.....me and Jun Nian slept through most of them.
3. The activities are like 5am to 10pm? Rarely went back to my room.
4. The ratio of boys to girls is like 10:1? Might be more...I m thinking 20:1 might be possible too.
Well, that might "it" for now. Until I can think more of course.
Now, UniTEN is making us Guinea Pigs for the new system that will be implemented soon. We are only the Lab Rats to test its efficiency. It is called the SCORUN system. It actually states that if we do not achieve a certain points in our co-corriculum activities, we CANNOT graduate! For Foundation, we need 10 Runs [Run(s) is the name for the points] and, if I want to graduate from my Bachelor's Degree Program, I need to get AT LEAST 100 Runs in order to graduate. I am given 4 years to accumulate 100 Runs, and if I fail, I will have to repeat a semester.
Now, I am a UniTEN student. My ID card is like SOOO nice~
This would be my room, I have yet to take pictures of the whole apartment yet. I'll upload it as soon as I get the photoes in UniTEN.
Outside my apartment unit in daybreak. Such a nice scenery...
And of course, CATS of Amanah Blok!! Sry, I am a cat fanatic...
I found two very "interesting" posters in UniTEN's male toilet. Check it out....
It says " If this bear can practice good bathroom etiquette. So Can You!"
Why bother building one in between then? If you guys don't get it, ask your father or brothers.
OMG...The hall is so BIG!
Hotshots of UniTEN. They RUN UniTEN.
The library is like...WOAH!!! UBER!! *Speechless*
Collage Of Information Technology. So Beautiful!!! I haven't take the picture of Collage Of Enginnering yet. Please wait for a while =)
Group G1-1 of Mass G. We are the BEST there IS!!! I LOVE ALL OF YOU GUYS!!! (Su Lee, thanks for the picture)
Haha, this is my groupie, G 1-1, we are trying to cheat in an activity. The activity is called "PassThe-Message". There is a handphone hiding there. Conspiracy and teamwork is important here!!
The moment of truth...time to say what the last person heard. Oh well, we cheated of course~
The last activity we had with out facilitators. Its called "The Confession"
Ok, even we students confessed. I did as well, I was frank at least. Saying that we are sorry for pissing them off over and over again for all the screw ups we did. I also asked for their permission to tresspass their hospitality for 2 more days until the Orientation ends. =X
Abang Zam giving his speech.....
Brother Lum joins in too =X
Abang Izzat aka Boy, my sub-group's facilitator and the head of Group G facilitator giving his speech~
Abang Ganesh telling us his tale....he will be missed.. =X
Abang Waqar!!! Our best facilitator apart from Boy!! Second to none, but First will always be Boy.
I like this photo alot. Look ontop of Abang Izzat's head~~ Horns~
As they all say, confession is good for your soul
The mini group photo.
If you guys noticed, every once of the facilitators hav a white thing on their hands. It is acutally a white rose made by my groupie to give the facilitators for all their hard work. We really appriciate them and we are very sorry too for pissing them off. Everytime after an activity, we will sure get scolded by them because of our care free attitude and our lack of team work.
Then, comes the last day of the Orientation. We have to attend the Oath Taking Ceremony. To tell the truth, I was feeling a kind of sadness within me. Maybe because I will miss all the things we did together as Mass G.
Time sure flies when you are having fun....
A fashion show and choir. They sang the song Warisan by Sudirman. Thanks Su Lee for the picture. =)
Even the facilitators sing the song "Langkah Pertama" with us...
Apart from tat, we also sang the UniTEN song and the song Gemuruh by Faizal Tahir. I liked that song...very motivational and spirited!!
Here are the lyrics:
After the event ended, we gathered together to take some photes together,
From left, Brother Lum, me and Abang Waqar
Abang Izzat aka Boy and me
The fun never seems to stop, does it?
After the orientation ends, we got a few competitions between block A3, A2/6 (me), A4 and A1/5. The competitons given were Futsal, Debate and Drama. Well, since I can't play soccer, nor I can act well, BUT I can talk crap ALOT!! I joined debate~
Each block are asked to send two teams to the "battle field" to compete with other blocks. Block A2/6 totally dominated the debate competiton as both of us won the 1st and 2nd prize!! WOOTS!! Hamper for us!! Split the loot!! The coca-cola is mine though...hehe...
My team members =)
Block A2/6 debate team 1 and 2. WE DOMINATED THE MATCH!!
I went back home today to pack up more of my stuff and get my bike for Monday's class. My family though of watching Transformers 2, but we failed since all the seats were out till 12.30am at midnight. So, my dad bought the tickets for tomorrow morning 11.30am. I bought this for myself...
The prosperity cat~ Lets hope it changes my luck from now on~
